B.O.O.S. S.M.A.K. H.O.O.P.
On January 16, we are opening B.O.O.S. S.M.A.K. H.O.O.P., a project by Touché, S.M.A.K., Kringwinkel Ateljee & Atelier Dada. Welcome with all your positive aggression and old crockery!
We live in turbulent times in which changes are happening at a rapid pace—not always for the better. Those who are struggling in society will not find life any easier in the coming years. Older people are becoming a revenue model, young people are worried about the future... There is a lot of anger in the world. But venting this emotion—although necessary—is becoming increasingly difficult.
That is why, between January 12 and February 1, 2026, Touché is presenting an installation at S.M.A.K. in one of the ‘Spotlight’ rooms of the exhibition ‘10 Years of S.M.A.K. Moves’, in which imagination emerges from shards. During specific Throw and Glue moments, you can come to S.M.A.K. to express your positive aggression.
Opening night
We invite you to the opening night on Friday, January 16, to throw everything you've got at it. Literally: bring a bag, plate or vase and come smash it. Until a big pile of anger is created. Touché would be denying its raison d'être if it didn't turn this anger into a positive signal. That's why the pile becomes hope. Shards are glued together to form a monumental work. A sculpture of desire and expectation. Shards of happiness, future, and perspective.
6 p.m.:
Throw crockery and help build the hope pile.
Exhibitions open.
Have a drink in the museum bar.
7 p.m.:
Program with evocative music, clinking shards, and words full of imagination. With contributions from a colorful troupe of imaginative artists, including Brigitte Herremans, DAAN, Hind Eljadid, Lectrr, Bieke Purnelle, Roland Gunst / John Cobra and Bruno De Vos.
10:30 p.m.:
Last admission to exhibitions

Together we will create one big pile of anger. And then? Then the shards will be glued back together. Anger will become hope. Come smash things and turn your anger into something beautiful. And don't do it alone: share this, bring people with you, come smash things together. PS: if you bring your own porcelain, you can enter for free.
